Students this semester worked on a number of different studies, using a variety of materials. The objective is to develop their understanding of a ranges of values, and how to create 3-dimensional form. One example is a pen and ink study. They had to choose a complex pen and ink drawing and crop it into a new composition. They used a quill pen dipped in ink to create the composition.
Students this semester worked on a series (3 or more pieces), based on a theme. They chose materials based on those we had worked with in class (pen and ink, charcoal, graphite and scratchboard).
